I'm afraid that it is very difficult to convey the scale of the Empty Quarter. We often camp on the side of a sand dune, we are 200 meters up in the air, and the sand dune still goes up.

Look at the nature site for some nice sunrise photos and shots of desert life such as camel spiders and scorpions. There are also some good photos of our adventure learning programs.  Check out Escape from Hidden Wadi.
